Prior to consulting, Ron worked with Cummins Engine for more than 20 years, holding many positions during that time, including Director of Operations Effectiveness.

During his tenure at Cummins, helped to build a strong foundation in problem-solving and workflow improvement methods, as well as Total Productive Maintenance and lean
manufacturing engineering. His responsibilities included working for improvement in
Cummins’ internal purchasing organization, with a focus on customer led quality and
elimination of waste for all types of manufacturing and assembly.

As the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, Ron spent several years addressing plant layout issues. Externally, he focused on improvement activities with key direct material suppliers, helping them apply lean manufacturing concepts to existing and new product lines. Ron led the effort to build a new facility for receiving, inspecting and cleaning castings plus was on the team that designed the process flow for a heavy-duty engine assembly area.

During his 30 years of industry experience, Ron has added value to many functional
organizations such as engineering (design and manufacturing), materials, purchasing
and quality. His work has taken him across the U.S., as well as around the world, giving
him a wide respect for the difference in industry and his ability to facilitate positive
change, either on the shop floor or in the office environment. His work has also allowed
him to consult with many of the KAIZEN experts from Toyota, Nissan, and other
industries.

Ron has experience with companies of varied sizes, from those with 150
employees to the major automobile manufactures - Chrysler, GM and Ford.
Most recently Ron served as the primary consultant for Tritec (Chrysler/BMW joint
venture) where he worked with the top 15 supplier commodities for engine components,
introducing them to Lean Production Preparation before they started production.
